The Old Presbytery
An exceptional Guest House 1 hour from Bordeaux

BONJOUR & WELCOME
to the most beautiful region of France !
Hello, we're Wayne & David and welcome to our home, The Old Presbytery, a lovingly restored 18th century stone Presbytère with stunning views over orchards and vineyards towards the Dordogne River and the bastide town of Sainte-Foy-la-Grande.
We're lucky to live in one of the most beautiful spots in France!
We're ideally located to explore the Bordeaux wine region, Saint-Émilion UNESCO world heritage site, Chemin de Compostelle route and the many beautiful castles and medieval towns in Gironde and Dordogne.
Or simply relax by the pool or under one of our 300 year old Lebanese cedar trees and enjoy the view!
We're only 1 hour drive from Bordeaux and 30 minutes from Bergerac Airport.

PEACE & TRANQUILLITY
only 1 hour from Bordeaux
At the Old Presbytery we can offer you space, privacy and the peace and tranquillity of the french countryside, as well as luxurious touches to elevate your experience.
As soon as you walk through our doors you’ll discover a friendly and relaxed environment where you can unhook from the world.
We consciously bring what’s outside our doors, inside; drawing on the story of our local area to inspire every aspect of your experience, like the stone work of our building that was loving restored by a local artisan craftsman.

HEALTH &
WELL-BEING
in the heart of the Dordogne
Your health & well-being is important to us, so we offer a range of activities for you to enjoy while you're staying with us.
Our 10 x 5 metre pool is heated and salt treated. It is also equipped with a counter current swimming machine for those who love doing laps.
We have electric bikes and maps of the local area for you to explore. We are also on the Chemin de Compostelle route if you fancy a longer trek.
Or a spot of pool in our games room?
Our fitness studio is located in a converted pigsty and is equipped with an infrared sauna that is both relaxing and restorative.

RESPECTING THE PLANET,
OUR ENVIRONMENT
& EACH OTHER
Our core values
We believe the world will be a better place if we all tread lightly on the planet.
To help us achieve this we aim to be fully sustainable with solar energy in 2023.
We source all our food and drink locally where possible, and in season. What’s not eaten we compost.
We avoid single use plastic bottles and straws. We give each guest a free reusable water bottle and provide free filtered still and sparkling tap water.
Children 18 years and over are welcome and we are dog friendly. Sherlock & Mrs Hudson, our resident Airedale Terriers, will happily play with you and your four legged friend for hours.
We proudly support LGBTQ+ travel where everyone is welcome!
